Racing Royale

Spring/Summer 2022 - Gameplay Designer / VFX Artist / QA Tester

Racing Royale is a 12-week multiplayer action racing game developed at the request of London-based developer Hutch as part of the Abertay University post-graduate course.

For this game, I worked as both a gameplay designer and QA Tester, working on tuning down the overall feel of playing and the experience (while also doing periodic playtesting sessions and obtaining data) as well as a VFX artist to help the art team and add more flare to our project.

Racing Royale is a "Battle Royale" inspired take on action and arcade racing games, where players have to overturn each other while avoiding obstacles, going through checkpoints and using power-ups.

As a multiplayer game, the objective of every player is to race through the finish line and be as fast as possible as not to be eliminated by the dreaded monster behind you.

For this project, I worked as both a gameplay designer and QA Tester alongside being responsible of the game's VFX. My main goal for this project was to be as resourceful and helpful as possible to our team in multiple manners.
